Meet our little mamas!
All of our dogs live in our home with us or in guardian homes and receive the best possible care (which of course includes lots of cuddles, attention, and playtime). We have a room dedicated to whelping that is comfortable and temperature controlled to create the best possible environment for our pups and their mamas. Once the puppies are big enough, they are moved out into the main area of our home to spend time with our family and work on their socialization as they continue to learn and grow.
Bailey is our newest Live + Love Doodles mama! She is a Miniature Irishdoodle from Willow x Finn'’s very first litter and we are so excited to have her in our program. She weighs about 13 pounds, so we anticipate her puppies to be on the smaller side of miniature, or even micro! She and her (human) mom, Ashley, are a match made in heaven! Bailey loves her people and being the center of attention. She’s super smart and loves to go on hikes and adventures, as well as hanging out with her two Miniature Poodle buddies who live with her “grandpawrents.” She also loves to get dolled up with her fancy collars and hair bows! Bailey also recently got to bring home one of her puppies, Poppy, to live with forever!
Maggie is our Goldendoodle girl! She loves playing with the kids, giving them hugs, and is always asking for cuddles and affection. She has become a great little mama - she always “counts” her pups when she comes back inside and never wants to be too far from them. She is on the smaller end of the Standard Goldendoodle spectrum, weighing 50 pounds (though she has some long legs!). Her favorite spot in warm weather is to hang out on top of the picnic table with our Bulldog, Millie, on the deck where she can keep an eye on the kids inside and the other dogs in the yard. She loves to wrestle with Hudson (our male Goldendoodle), but Scout is her partner in crime. Maggie is also the mama of Nala, our newest mini Goldendoodle mama.
And our little men!
Crockett is our littlest man who is making his debut as a dad with two of our Winter 2022 litters. He loves chasing kids around the yard, but his best friend is our cat Shang. They love to wrestle and play in the living room. He is cuddly and sweet, and has the cutest button nose! He is only 5 pounds, but he has a huge heart and helps keeps our puppies company when they get a little older (he’s our “positive male role model” for puppies before they go home!).
Finn is our main man! He has been the papa to the first litters of Live + Love Doodles. He is a sweet, 5 pound Toy Poodle who loves to cuddle up with you on the couch (he is the first one to snuggle with you and has even won over our one kiddo who is a self-declared “cat person”). He has a mischievous smirk that a number of his pups have inherited - we love it! Mischievous smirk aside, Finn is the calmest of our pack and tends to find a perch to keep an eye on everything going on. He loves nothing more than to curl up on your lap and take a nap.
Our Retired Mamas!
Retired in 2022, Willow is our sweet Irish Setter girl who loves spending as much time outside as possible. Willow had two beautiful litters with us: her Star Wars Litter and her Green Gables Litter. Her daughter, Bailey (from her Star Wars Litter), is now our Miniature Irishdoodle mama! Willow loves to hang out on her cot on the deck and keep an eye on things (especially keeping deer out of the yard). When the weather is cooler, she prefers to hang out by a window in the kitchen to continue keeping watch over the kids. She also loves to greet her favorite people at the door by sounding like a Wookie, and if you don’t stop to give her a good ear scratch, she’ll follow you around and talk your ear off until you do! She tries to be a mama to all our litters, whether they are hers or not. We think she’s the only girl who loves puppies more than we do!
Retired in 2023, Scout is our original Labradoodle mama. She is an 18-pound PRO mama! She is clever and affectionate, and always wants to be where the action is. She loves to be in the middle of any chaos, whether it is waiting for the kids to ‘accidentally’ drop a little bit of their lunch or playing with the other dogs in the yard (while simultaneously keeping an eye on the kids as they play). She is the second one to hop on your lap when you sit down (Finn always beats her to the punch), but the first to greet you at the door when you come home. But, she is also the first to use her puppies as an excuse not to do what you ask her to do - she’ll run and pretend to nurse even after they are weaned!
